TESTING FOR - NON UNION PAINTERS
- If you ARE working for a Union employer in District Council # 5, you can test at any time. Please note: Your Health and Safety requirements must be completed and you have to be current with the Union before a Journey Card will be issued. You can call Annie at (206) 762-3205 and schedule your test. The test will take all day. Your pay rate will be established by the test. Remember that you must wait 1 Year or 1,500 hours to test again.
- If you come from NON-Union, you may negotiate a temporary wage with your employer. You are able to test but will not receive a Journey Card until you have completed the six (6) Health and Safety classes and are current with the Union. The test will establish what classification and rate of pay you will be, or you may take the test first and work at a negotiated wage till your Health & Safety classes are completed.
- If you are NOT working and current with your Union, you can take the test to establish what classification you will be when you find work. However, a Journey Card will not be issued until the six (6) Health & Safety classes are completed.
